Project type:

Grot’tourism stands for “grotto + tourism”, which means that the proposed tourism accommodation complex is developed in the form of dens.
The idea for this project was a result of reflecting on architecture’s visual impact on landscapes, and nothing creates less impact in the landscape than a cave. So, instead of having an extruded monolithic object placed on site, the project is scattered throughout the territory.
Therefore, there was an attempt to reduce the impact of the constructions in the context, while subtly telling the architecture is there via the glass openings and volumetries that create voids in the existing terraces in reference to Tindaya Mountain of the sculptor Eduardo Chillida.
