Juan Lago-Novas received his architecture degree from the Escuela Superior de Arte y Arquitectura (ESAYA), Madrid.  He also earned an MBA from the Escuela Politécnica de Madrid and undertook additional studies at Harvard Business School in the Leading Professional Service Firms Program.

Juan Lago-Novás is currently a PhD candidate at the ESAYA University of Madrid. His Research focuses on the management of architectural practices and the implications of business decisions for design strategy. He combines his professional practice as Principal of DSC Architecture, a research office for innovation in architecture, with his position as Vice Chairman of the Juan de la Cosa Foundation, an organization that helps to promote Spanish architecture internationally. Juan Lago-Novás is also a lecturer and visiting critic at various international universities.

Currently Juan Lago-Novas is the Director of the Master in Architectural Management and Design at IE School of Architecture & Design.
