Alejandro Beautell, Barcelona 1978.

Graduated as an architect at Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Superior Technical School of Architecture in 2005, specializing both in Building and Urban Planning. He completed his training at the college of Architecture, Building and Planning at the Eindhoven University of Technology, Holland.

At present he combines his work as a freelance architect with teaching and researching as part of his job as a teacher of Architectural Projects at the School of Architecture of the European University of the Canary Islands. He has worked as guest lecturer at many national and international universities; his work has been exhibited in different cities: La Habana, Venice, Buenos Aires, Shanghai, New York, among others.

Among his honors, it is worth mentioning his participation as guest architect at the Venice and Buenos Aires Biennials of Architecture, and his awards “Faith and Form” given by the American Institute of Architecture; the “Frate Sole”, given by Italian Republic and the Holy see; and the “Building of the year”, bestowed by the specialized magazine Archdaily. At a national level, he was awarded last year with the “Excellens Prize” bestowed by the San Miguel el Arcángel Royal Academy of Fine Arts; and with the “Oraá Prize to Renovation and Refurbishing” and the “Emergent Architect”, both bestowed by the Official Association of Architects from Tenerife, La Gomera and El Hierro.
