The Gandhi Memorial Hall in Yangon played an important role in the independence of India and Burma. In reflection on this political significance, it is to be restored and repurposed with a diplomatic program that critiques foreign diplomatic missions in context of power assertion, shifting national values and new mediums. It explores territoriality, memories, and aesthetic contrast, while introducing new interventions and program organization – putting the past and present into frank dialogue.

Pure Power/Daily Combat Strategy for Water Harvesting

In Africa, where it is difficult to get water from a long distance, many people need one to three hours from their homes to the water source, but the water they can get is muddy and muddy. One of the main causes of death is that they drink polluted water for a long time, and the harsh environment prevents them from getting water through other means. However, these polluted waters often contain high levels of bacteria and parasites, and drinking them can lead to illness and even death.

Through a suggested route, “Intentos por São Paulo: Ensaio Minhocão” provokes all of us, subjects who use, consume and produce the urban, to reflect on the relevance of experiences, perception and spatial apprehension of the city in everyday life.
The proposal takes shape by connecting four “intentos” (interventions) along the path of the viaduct Elevado Pres. João Goulart (Minhocão), in the city center of São Paulo. Each attempt seeks to sensitize individuals by sharpening the senses of those who connect physically and visually in these spaces.

The growing scientific research carried out by national programmes in Antarctica goes hand in hand with various tourist activities that pose a threat to the environment and coastal ecosystems. Our challenge was to design zero environmental impact facilities that allow the respectful coexistence of human activity and the territory. The project aims at the growth and modernisation of the Marambio Station, in an integrated design that combines logistical, environmental and patrimonial dimensions.

IE School of Architecture and Design is pleased to announce its first edition of the Outstanding Architecture and Design Thesis Award.

We are looking for top emerging talent from around the world to join our next intake of the Master in Business for Architecture and Design, our Master in Architecture or our Diploma in Strategic Interior Design.

All those who hold a Bachelor or a Master Degree in Architecture, Design, Interior Design, Product Design, Graphic Design, Landscape Design or related fields, who graduated between 2012 and 2022, and who were ranked in the top 25% if their class are eligible to compete for the Outstanding Architecture and Design Thesis Award.

The winning entries will be awarded a scholarship toward tuition for the IE Master in Business for Architecture and Design (commencing in April 2023), the IE Master in Architecture (commencing in September 2023) or the Diploma in Strategic Interior Design (commencing in April 2023).

IE School of Architecture and Design

IE Master in Business for Architecture and Design (MBArch)

The Master in Business for Architecture and Design (MBArch) is a cutting-edge program centered on business, innovation, and entrepreneurship, to train the future leaders in all aspects of the built environment. Participants will explore the relationship between architecture and management, and the most advanced approaches to the world of design with top business professors and leading global professionals and companies.

IE Master in Architecture (MArch)

The master´s in architecture (MArch) combines the rigorous training required to achieve professional licensure in Spain and the European Union with an international, entrepreneurial, and sustainable approach. We help you gain professional licensure, and then redefine the profession.

The Master in Architecture, held in our new Madrid vertical campus and in Amsterdam, consists of three elements which make it absolutely unique: 1. the Thesis Project module led by world-renowned architect Ben Van Berkel, of Amsterdam based UNStudio, 2. an intensive architectural design and building construction studio based on sustainable technologies, and 3. the Design Management Module, which build on our legacy of excellence in entrepreuneurial thinking and training.

IE Diploma in Strategic Interior Design (DSID)

This program prepares professionals for work as forward-thinking design strategists. While exploring the evolving relationship between design strategy and business outcomes, the program pays special attention to the role the built environment plays in empowering people and transforming organizations.

Object:

Participants will submit one architecture or design project realized during their last year of study.

We know how much time, effort and dedication you put on your final degree projects, and we want to highly compensate that effort.

Prize:

The Outstanding Architecture and Design Thesis Award will award the following prizes to the winners:

One (1) First Prize

Admission to IE Master in Business for Architecture and Design or Master in Architecture or Diploma in Strategic Interior Design program for 2023 academic year. Scholarship worth 40% off towards the specific program tuition fees.

Three (3) Second Prizes

Admission to IE Master in Business for Architecture and Design program or Master in Architecture or Diploma in Strategic Interior Design for the 2023 academic year. Scholarship worth 20% off towards the specific program tuition fees.

Registration Fee:

There is no registration fee for the Outstanding Architecture and Design Thesis Award.
