International Museum of Astronomy
IMPACT CRATERS - IMOA1685
IMOA - 1685
Project type:
Arquitectura
The proposal is focused on the users, allowing them to experience the energy of the universe through its architecture oriented entirely towards the sky. It´s conceived as a perforated buried structure, inspired in the formation stages of an IMPACT CRATER. From outside, the underground museum merges with the slopes of the mountains of the Atacama Desert, appearing as man-made craters formed on the surface of the earth. The sky, seen through the courtyards, promotes a sense of mysticism associated to the astronomy world, allowing the visitor to receive stimulus energies from the external environment.
