The Gandhi Memorial Hall in Yangon played an important role in the independence of India and Burma. In reflection on this political significance, it is to be restored and repurposed with a diplomatic program that critiques foreign diplomatic missions in context of power assertion, shifting national values and new mediums. It explores territoriality, memories, and aesthetic contrast, while introducing new interventions and program organization – putting the past and present into frank dialogue.
