Brazil was the country chosen to house the Nature Observatory of Amazonia, due to the high rate of deforestation and neglect of forest preservation occurring a few years, and for being the country that houses larger area of the Amazon rainforest. These reasons justify the existence of an observatory in the region where visitors and the population can be educated about its importance in order to become allies in preserving.
The project aims to create an environment where nature is valued, incorporating forms of materials found in the forest, showing the human being that it can be integrated with nature without any destruction. Sinuous forms referring to the shape of rivers in the region, so that the construction is not overly highlight the environment were adopted, blending the more subtle and natural way possible. In order to maintain naturalness was also made use of spiral shapes based on the golden ratio, which sets standards followed throughout nature. In the main walkway and its branches can be noted deconstructed way of the format used for the extraction of rubber latex, inserted in the project as a reference to the local population. For visitors to circulate the local walkways were designed in a format that covers large area using little space. These walkways can vary from level to allow the observation in the forest and also of its surface, and have as a meeting towers slightly higher which will allow a visualization of the macro-scale region. The rooms visitors are separated from each other and close to the river to provide a sense of peace and interaction with the environment; and high level as some of the local residences to offer protection. The central buildings is located on the river bank to get visitors coming for him, and hosts the reception, along with a play area and interact between visitors as well as a restaurant. This visitors can cross over the river via a footbridge to visit the area of studies and animal rehabilitation of local wildlife, which will feature ponds, tanks, hatchery and laboratories.
