Peter Oborn is the former Deputy Chairman of Aedas Architects Ltd, currently a National member of the RIBA Council and has been elected RIBA's Vice President International in October 2011.

Peter Oborn founded the Aedas Research & Development group based in London, which developed specialisms in sustainability, advanced modelling and computational design. The award-winning R&D group helped to drive innovation throughout the practice, enabling new ways of problem solving and design.

At Aedas he was the Director responsible for the £200m CTBUH award winning Al Bahr Towers in Abu Dhabi. Won on the basis of an invited international competition, the design concept for this turnkey project features the world's largest dynamic façade. The project has been included as one of the Council for Tall Buildings & Urban Habitat's list of 'Innovative 20' buildings which 'challenge the typology of tall buildings in the 21st century' and received its inaugural Innovation Award in 2012.
