HIGH RISE
INTERNATIONAL PAVILLION OF WONDER SIGHT
WALKING BETWEEN SKYSCRAPERS, NATURE AND CULTURE
The project comes from the Manhattan´s zoning law of1916, which was designed to secure the passage of light to the streets; under the notion of New York skyscraper, the pavilion stands within the forest (The Rambles); This allows the visual control over Central Park, the analogy "building" sets the characteristic landscape of the city. The pavilion rises above an open floor plan, allowing vegetation, and the dynamics of the stations continue its natural cycle without any barriers; visitors will be able to walk through several rooms until you reach the top, viewpoints.
From the shaping flexibility of the program, several volumes allow empty within range of activities such as showrooms, presentations or simply natural observatories, the pavilion is presented as a chance to adapt.
Materiality, the use of dark teak wood and metal frame, has slopes greater than 50 °, whereby the impart of snow and rain is mitigated, and serves as a courtyard that allows the flow of the wind.
