Arquideas includes amongst its latest contest the first edition of the Arquideas Contest and Grant. This iniciative has the purpose of promote and encourage the continuous training to students and young architects.
The Arquideas Contest and Grant expects to place the necessary means to do the activities to the students´ and young architects´ disposal during a semester, so they can improve their education.
Arquideas firmly believes in the student´s and young architects´ education so they can be enriched personal, cultural and professionally.
The Arquideas Contest and Grant will reward the winner with a fund paid monthly by Arquideas during six months.
If the contestants want to apply for the Arquideas Contest and Grant have to carry out anonimously an academic exercise proposed and valued by the collaborated studio of each official announcement.
The winner will be selected anonymously and only by virtue of the presented work at the Arquideas Contest and Grant.
This official announcemente is aimed at architect students and young architects.
The competition call is for architecture students of any year and young architects (with their studies finished from June 1, 2007) from all over the world.
The present announcement of the arquideas grant competition will count on the prestigious firm Nieto Sobejano Architects.
Fuensanta Nieto and Enrique Sobejano are graduated Architects of the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid and the GSAP Columbia University, New York. USA. They are currently professors at the European University of Madrid (UEM) and at the Universität der Künste of Berlin (UdK), and are partners of Nieto Sobejano Arquitectos SL. office.
Working in or adjacent to buildings of the past, makes us face its processing in space and time, and requires taking a stance aware of the role of contemporary architecture in its relationship with the city and history.
The exercise aims to propose the construction of a small visitor centre for the Nizamuddin Basti area in Delhi, India, which will form part of the interventions that being carried out today in the area between the Sunder Nursery gardens, Humayun's Tomb (World Heritage) and urban and social renovation of Nizamuddin area.
The winner of the arquideas grant competition will receive an economic prize of 4,200 euros.
Payment of the economic prize of the arquideas grant competition will be given to the winner with six monthly payments of equal amounts. The first payment will be made in Febraury 2013 after the decision of the Jury.
The registration period falls between June 10 and December 10, 2012.
