SYSTEM OF URBAN ACTIONS
- CASE OF STUDY: TEUSAQUILLO -

The project was aimed to the identification of a definite problematic. In order to this, possible causal and impacts were identified, allowing interpretation, diagnosis, analysis and theoretical support. In this case, the work will comprehend a problematic of the behavior of the city of Bogotá, emphasizing the deterioration of urban centers, having as the area of development and intervention the area of Teusaquillo, on a zonal scale.

In Bogota it has been developing an urban growth conditioned by a severe increase in the rate of population migrations. This population was introduced in the territory spontaneously, leading to the expansion of the city and therefore implementing new core business areas with their infrastructures and facilities, different from those so traditional, hierarchical, consolidated around the historic center. These new central areas outside from the traditional center were increasingly providing greater activity, infrastructure and other needs that the city would require, thus becoming attractors for the dynamics concentrated in the traditional core areas. This occurs in the traditional central area known as Teusaquillo. Area on which a transformation of uses is seen, activities without prior adaptation in urban infrastructure obstruct their proper development and generate a weakening in both physical, social, economic, and environmental among other sectors. For this purpose a System of Urban Actions is proposed. Each urban action must contain certain features and concepts related to: 1. Mixticity of use (Allow the integration of different activities and users). 2. Green roofs (In order to generate green spaces within buildings and promote the retention and reuse of water) 3. Public space at different levels (Generate permeability, so that way the traditional schemes of private area and public area are broken) 4. Visual Relations. (Visual relationships with the immediate context either with natural elements, architectural landmarks etc.

The proposal defines a specific intensity of use for each Urban Development, this way not saturating the place but balancing it. With this project, through the architecture sector recovery is achieved in both the spatial, physical, economic and environmental, going from a deteriorated area to an effective area for the operation of the city, avoiding the creation of new central activity areas in order to be a more compact city, less extensive and therefore closer to a vision of a sustainable city.
